Surroundings

Surroundings: Sint-Annaland, Sealand

The holiday houses are situated next to the picturesque city Sint Annaland, a vivid city with various restaurants, bars and shops. You can visit both super market and a weekly market. Regional museum De Meestoof, situated in the town hall, shows how people used to live in the country on the island Tholen. The oldest mill is flourmill De Vier Winden, which was renovated a few years ago and is definitely worth a visit!

Flood museum Ouwerkerk
You should definitely visit the Flood Museum in Ouwerkerk. It gives you an impression of the flood disaster of 1953, which marked the history of Zeeland and the Netherlands. As a result of this disaster, the Deltaplan was developed. The southern part of the island Tholen suffered the most during the disaster, most people died in Stavenisse.

Deltapark Neeltje Jans
To avoid another flood disaster the Delta Works have been developed. Deltapark Neeltje Jans will give you an impression of the power of the sea. It’s not only about technique, there is a sea lion show, an aquarium and a water park as well. There is something for everybody. For both young and old.

Bergen op Zoom
A historic, dazzling city with many shops in medieval streets and squares. Bergen op Zoom has a rich history. The city centre offers many monuments like the Gevangenpoort (Gatehouse), the Sint Gertrudis Church, Het Markiezenhof and the town hall. Besides shops, this city offers many restaurants and terraces.

Goes
Nickname of Goes: The shopping center of Zeeland. Goes offers a wide variety of shops which are situated around the historic town center. Besides, Goes offers several galleries. Museum de Bevelanden is definitely worth a visit. At night you can visit one of the discotheques or bars and enjoy live music.

Tholen
The city Tholen borders on the province of North Brabant. Its historic town centre is mainly surrounded by embankments and moats. Highlights; the big church, the town hall and the historic shipyard at the marina.

Antwerp
This big city offers many historic buildings and monuments like the Cathedral of Our Lady.  You can go shopping at De Meir or visit one of the many museums. Don’t forget to visit the Zoo, one of the oldest zoos in the world.

Island Tholen
Both the holiday houses and the entire island Tholen guarantee peace, space and nature. The many cycling- and walking routes over winding polder roads lead you along dikes, fields and offer wonderful views of the Oosterschelde and the Grevelingen.
