To avoid another flood disaster the Delta Works have been developed. Deltapark Neeltje Jans will give you an impression of the power of the sea. It’s not only about technique, there is a sea lion show, an aquarium and a water park as well. There is something for everybody. For both young and old.
Kinderdijk
Kinderdijk in the Alblasserwaard is worldwide known for its authentic windmills from the 18th century. The 19 mills were originally built to allow occupation. Nowadays these mills are unique icons representing an unique piece of Dutch history. The extensive peatland offers a perfect background.
De Hollandse Biesbosch
A wonderful scenic area. The visible tidal differences have created an unique landscape. You will enjoy wonderful basins, willows and water birds. The best way to discover this area is by boat. It is possible to rent a rowing boat, whisper boat or canoe.
Paths are unpaved and require solid shoes and clothes. A walk through this area will definitely be a great experience. Although it is difficult to cycle through the National Park, the surrounding area offers wonderful cycle tracks along meadows, polders, village and rivers.
