  3. Stay in a holiday home in Tholen

Tholen is the place to go to find peace and nature. The islands are surrounded by the Krammer, Crabs Creek, and the Eastern Scheldt. Its nature and environment are best explored by bike or on foot. The south side of the island was extensively rebuilt after the North Sea Flood of 1953. The polder area on the north side of the island is more rural. There you will find more dikes with poplars, elms, and willows. The mudflats and marshes outside the dikes are are resting places for water birds such as coots, ducks and waders. The villages of Sint-Maartensdijk and Scherpenisse have a historical relationship with the House of Orange.

On arrival on Friday or Monday are most holiday homes available
